CornerBank
has announced the latest recipients of the Community Cornerstone
Award. In recognition of their service, CornerBank contributed
$100 to the Legacy Community Foundation to support additional
community development projects, or to the community organization
of their choice. Receptions were held through the CornerBank
communities, celebrating their contributions.

Winfield, KS
Cowley County Fair Association is the latest Community Cornerstone
Award recipient in the Winfield community. In recognition of their
contributions to the community,
CornerBank will contribute $100 to the Legacy Community Foundation
to support additional community development projects. A
reception was held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2006, in the
CornerBank lobby, 900 Main, Winfield, KS. The public was
invited to attend the reception.
For over 100 years the Winfield
Fairgrounds has been home to the annual Cowley County Fair. The
roots of the Cowley County Fair had their beginning with the first
Walnut Valley District Fair, held September 11-14, 1878. From this,
the Cowley County Fair has grown to become a huge county get-together
with events of interest for all age groups. The Cowley County Fair

Lawrence, KS
Deb Engstrom is
the latest recipient of the Community Cornerstone Award in the
Lawrence community. In recognition of her service, CornerBank
will make a contribution on behalf of Engstrom to the Lawrence
Public Schools for transition instruction. A reception
honoring her service was held at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 24,
2006 in the CornerBank lobby, 4621 W. 6th Street, Lawrence, KS. The

Arkanas City, KS
Lloyd Lisk is the latest Community Cornerstone
Award winner in the Arkansas City community. In recognition of
his service, CornerBank will contribute $100 to the Legacy Community
Foundation to support additional community development projects. A
reception honoring his service was held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday,
August 24, 2006, in the CornerBank community room, 125 N. Summit,
Arkansas City, KS. The
public was invited to attend the reception.
Lloyd moved to Ark City
in 1991 and has made a tremendous impact with his volunteer service. He
served as a city commissioner from 2003 until 2005 and served
on the City zoning and planning commissions. He was treasurer
for the Cowley County Republican Party in 1999-2000. He
received the No Ordinary Joe Award from the City in 2001 and
the Good Neighbor Award in 2006. Read
